Omen : Chakoram

Do you believe in omen ? I know people who look for the omen, when they go out. Whether you believe it or not, it's still in the minds of our people, and is being practiced by many.

When you  go out of the house (to office, to a nearby shop, or for a journey) the first sight you get (on your coming out of the gate/door) is called the omen.  There are good and bad omens.

I shall list out a few Good ones :

Cow, Bull with rope, Milk, Fish, Fish vendor, Corpse, Elephant, Horse, 'Uppan',  ...  and many more. I'm skipping some of the very important ones !  But,  of all the omens normally seen and quoted, the best is  "Uppan", the bird also called as 'Chempothu' or 'Chakoram'.

Remember, what happened to Kuchelan ?

Kuchelan, one day,  went to meet his classsmate and friend Lord SreeKrishnan. He wanted to get some help, for running his home.  Kuchelan took some "aval" (rice flakes) with him to present to Lord Krishnan.   After the meet, Krishnan blessed Kuchelan, and sent him back home. By the time Kuchelan returned home, his hut became a palace and with all kinds wealth. All this happened just because, the oman was excellant !
