Satyam - Again !

It's again on Satyam. Precisely on Satyam's 53000 millioners ( I don't like to call them employees ! ).
Today, a report says :
" On the record, top satyam eofficials have spoken of some 53000 employees in various divisions of the company. ... But, given the scale of fraud that's being uncovered, the exact number of employees needs to be ascertained, to ensure that it does not turn out to be a muster roll scam as well
"
The author is quite right in his apprehension. Let's hope, someone make an honest head count immediately.

The same report also points out that :
" Paying them salaries for the next few months may be one of the major preoccupations of the new Board of Directors
"
I wish, the Board of Directors take a more logical and wise decision. This (paying them salaries, and making them richer) should not be a priority at all for them. As I pointed out in my earlier posts,I wish the employees of Satyam take a more 'humane' decision to save their organisation. If, they are responsible to their parent organisation, its investors (whose money they are playing with) and this Nation, all employees should voluntarily come out to make a few sacrifices. They should work for Satyam without salary for the next few months (until Satyam is saved!). Not only that, they should contribute more money ( one month's salary for every year of service you have put in OR even more !).

Kicking upstairs ! and Whitewashing !!

Kicking upstairs is an organisational jargon. When a person is incompetent (or misfit) for a job, the best thing to avoid him (change him) is to kick him upstairs. He is promoted ( a babu can never be demoted, only promoted ) and sent up the ladder in the hierarchy. Some are promoted that way, or some buys out a promotion. That's kicking upstairs (by the system or bought out ).

We can see such 'kicking upstairs' everywhere, including the politics. Buying a 'kick upstairs' too is common. That's what our Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt does. He is buying an upper berth in Indian politics. I don't know how much it costs him.
But I know, anything is possible in our country. Becoming an MP is simple - if you have money, muscle power, and the ability to 'whitewash'.

White washing, laundering, and the recent 'greenwash' are all active jargons ... but everyone understands, I believe.

HORN ! Sound horn !

Horn... Sound Horn !! All vehicles are provide with a horn. It's a legal requirement too. But why ? What for ??
A horn is meant (that's what I understand) to give an audible signal to fellow motorists and pedestrians about your presence. Or to signal your intention to draw attention to a caution or your needs to move/navigate. Basically, it's a safety accessory.

Horns are a means (no.1 source) of creating sound pollution. Inspite of this negative point, a horn is seen as a positive element. And so, its a part of any traffic.

But, in Kerala, and Trivandrum in particular, a HORN is not just a horn. It's a 'whip'. To whip away fellow motorists and pedestrians. In TVM, when a motorist horns (no, he blasts the horns !), none of the above good intensions are meant. It's a command to all others, to move away and clear off passage for him, immediately. If you don't, you are most likely to be hit by him. This is true with almost all motorists ('horn blasters'), except a few private vehicles.

So, next time you drive (or walk along) Trivandrum lanes ( includes mudukkukal !) be careful. If you hear a horn, move off your vehicle immediately ... else the blaster'll hit you (or atleast he'll be abusing you).

So ... a horn is a command !

Satyam : Save Satyam

Today, I understand that Govt took the right decision - not to waste public money. Thank you Government.
But the Satyam employees may not be happy. Natural... the human instinct of getting money ... more and more .. and greedy... Yeah, that's what Ramalinga Raju also did. But dear Satyamites, see what happened to Raju now. So, understand the universal truth, and dont'be greedy.
Do your duty (work), the results will come to you. Don't expect all the results in currency form.
This is applicable to all the 'software people", the richest people in India. You are all the highest earners in India. But most of you don't spend a paisa for charity. I suggest, you all should take a pledge to contribute atleast 10 % of what you earn. This good deed will protect you from disasters. You may be aware, Bill Gates does this... Narayana Murthy, Premji, and many more. That's why they are still at the top. Else they too would have become 'Rajus".

Now, what I suggest you is , do the charity to your Satyam itself. That's why I said you return some part of the money you drained from your company to Satyam itself. Your charity only can save Satyam.

All the best.

Satyam and aSathyam : SAVE Satyam

I am not attempting any post-mortem on Satyam. That's all experts' job. I am just thinking LOUD on how to save Satyam !
But I heard our Government is going to put a lot of money to save Satyam. The reason being, it's the case of 53000 people's employment !

Oh... why are these people thinking so illogical, cruel, and stupid ? Why are they trying to misuse the poor-man's money to save the richest of all Indians ? NO... NO... please don't spend a paisa from the treasury to save this 'Satyam'.
Then who and how to save Satyam ? That's very logical and clear question . Maybe, the following would give some clues.

Who built Satyam ?
I can hear 53000 loud voices .... "we built it". OK agreed !

Who killed Satyam ?
I can hear 0 db voices from a few Satyam employees (big guys !)... "yes I have been a party to it ..."

Who can save Satyam now ?
Again, I hear 53000 voices ... "Government should save ...".

Dear Satyamites, Government should certainly help you and Satyam. With certain policy decisions and management of the company. But, NOT with the public money. Not even a paisa can be given to Satyam, or you 53000 employees. The poorman's treasury can't do that.
You should not forget that you are the richest 53000 in India. Then how do you expect the poor man to fund you for making you richer ? Sorry, that's not possible. We, poor Indians, will not allow that misuse of public money.

Then, who will help you ? YOU and only YOU can help yourself and save Satyam. I'll tell you what you can do.

1. Zero salary employment (sounds good !). Yes, accept with immdediate effect, to work without salary for some period. { may be till Satyam recovers to pay you }.

2. Implement "Return Bonus" (again sounds good ?) . That's exactly (as you guessed it right) paying Satyam a bonus. You must have had a number of heavy bonuses from Satyam. Now, it's your turn to save yourself by returning a part of it to save Satyam. Pay a month's salary amount as return bonus to Satyam. Pay that as many monthly times as the number of years you have served there. {eg. If you have 5 years service, return 5 months' salary }.

3. Don't desert Satyam and leave off. Be there until Satyam recovers. Put your best efforts and make the best of you there. Your attempt to hop over is like killing your mother. So, don't do it please !

So, dear Satyamites, please accept my suggestions, OR better it please with your ideas.

Wishing you all the best.
