Eka, the supercomputer

“Eka’, the Supercomputer from CRL (Computational Research Laboratories, from Tata) is the latest Indian initiative in Supercomputers.
When I hear that we, in India, have made something new in Computers, I feel very happy. I am very emotional about that ; may be that I love Computers.

Eka is now 132.8 tflops. This upgradation from 117.9 tflops is now achieved through software enhancements.
Eka has 14,400 processors (from HP) in it. CRL says it takes a 45 km cables to connect all the processors !
The development cost of Eka is about $ 30 million.
The application areas include :  Weather modeling,  Aero-space , Automobile engineering
Drug design,  Nanotechnology,  Seismic signal processing,  Animation and rendering
 Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Eka, you are great !
