On August 15th, it happened. The murder ... the brutal muder in bright day light. Three men came with axe and ropes. they started from the top.. cutting off the organs.. the head first.. It was a slow process.. it took the whole of the moring hours. When I dared to look at her, it was like this ... his head and half the trunk ... gone !
In another half an hour, almost all the trunk, but for a short ground part ..! !
See she is gone for ever ....
The jack tree is watching.. alone.. his friend is gone .. for ever... who'll listen to his cries ..!
The weeping friend....
She'll never be back .. her body had been taken ... the next day... to a brick kiln .. where it will be incinerated. Oh God, how cruel are these men !
Innale kandavane innu kaanunnilla ! { You saw one yesterday.... you may not see him today ! }
On 14th August, I was just roaming round my hut. As usual, I was chatting with my tree friends around. I was happy with my neighbor coconut tree.. and chat with her. See, how rich this coconut tree is. She is bearing huge bunches.. many ..
Many bunches of golden coconuts !
She roots up from my neighbor's plot. She has many plant friends around her.. so greenish.. in this city !
The trunk is so sturdy and thick.. she is a proud coconut tree.
She is so tall.. her head is heavy and green.. so lush green...
She has a Jack tree as her friend.. and she is so close by.. always happy and waving her leaves ..
I wish I call her 'the golden coconut tree' !
Everywhere in the urban areas ( and rural too these days) are these arrows aiming the skies. The birds must be complaing 1
The pictures are clear. They talk themselves. The office of ALIND (at Udarasiromani Road, Vellayambalam, Trivandrum) and its present status.
I know no one's going to bother, even if I write thousand s of pages about this. So, I refrain from such things. But I'll tell you just one point.
Did you notice the name of the road, above ? Please read it as ' u daa ra si ro ma ni Road'. "Udaara siromani" is a title given to some of the the King's men. But, the name appears (or written) always as "U da ra si ro ma ni". 'Udara' means stomach (abdomen).
That must be right ! Almost all residents in this road have a big belly.
Web resources are conflicting. Everyone, it seems, has a version of their own as regards those extra senses. Let me make a mention of those below, without any further explanations.
Hai all,
I've today, a set of snaps from Ytown. In one of my earlier posts, I've shown you how Ytown looks like, from the skies. I've put there a picture from GoogleEarth, showing many "Y" formations of the roads , ie many Y junctions. You now know well why I call this town "The Y town". Here are a few pictures. They are arranged randomly, and not in any order of priority.
The first one is the 'Rohini junction'. The road going left leads you to Ytown centre.
The second one here is "Thop Junction". The road to the left takes you to "Asianet Studios".
And here, another Y (close to Thop Jn), and the road to the right is 'Nethaji Road'.
What you see below is "Rohini Theatre". This is an important land mark in Google Earth. But see it closely... I'm sorry.. the famous Rohini theatre is not there atall (It's time GoogleEarth correct thir markings! ). It has been demoloished recently. A huge residential complex is coming up here (A huge hoarding at the left shows the complex). The only thing reamins of Rohini theatre there is the coconut tree (at the middle of the picture). You know, this coconut tree must have seen thousands of cenemas, over the last many (?) years. You can see also a bus-stop (shelter) in front of the coconut tree.
And now, you see the Mosque junction (view from Mosque). The road to the right is the main road, to TVM city centre. The road to the left will take you to PTP Nagr (and Saraswathy Vidyalaya, an eminent private school in TVM).
Now, what you see here is ' the centre of Ytown, the main junction. The road to the right goes to Rohini junction, Asianet studios, and ... The road to the left goes to Perrorkada, Kudappanakkunnu, and other very important places. The centre is characterised by its dilapilated buildings of a century old!
The picture below is the .. junction. The road to the left goes to Perrorkada. And the right one to 'Aruvikkara', and so on.
Here is a junction which takes you to Ytown central (to the right) and the road going left takes you to Rohini junction.
And finally, you have another view of Rohini junction.
Oh.. How many Y junctions do you see ?. The "Y Town" is really of "Ys". Isn't it ?
If you have any comments, please scrap them here.
(I'm sorry, the photos and the text don't align, inspite of my repeated attempts.)
Here are a few snaps.. City scenes...
A computerised scooter, parked near my neighboring Thattukada.
It's foot path .. Doubtful ? .. No.. it is. A new foot path being laid on the "Janakeeyam veedhi" at Vellayambalam.
Do you remember.. Corporation's announcement that this road will be made unique.. as in Switzerland... into a ?? with only parking and cafeterias..music.. and all. Next day morning, Kawdiar people objected to this.. They say Kawdiar is the only place to be developed in that fashion..not Vellayambalam ! May God save all our men (and women too !).
An FM Thattukada ! Big FM 92.7 kettukondirikkoo..
Today is SreeKrishna Jayanthi. Scenes from a Krishnan Kovil (enroute Y town ) yesterday evening.
Naale...naale... naale... I think you don't get this loud announcements these days. Am I right ?
Not exactly.. Lottery is a very smart business for our Government. Now, the tickets of the current Kerala Government Lottery (Onam bumper prize !) is priced at 100/-.
My neighborhood lotterywaala says, that these tickets are in great demand. Why not, you may get TWO CRORES ... if not atleast a Maruti car !!
I'm on to buying one ticket from him. I'll shell out 100/-... I am sure to win 2 crores ...! And I've to plan { dream for ! ) spending these crores..
Today, I've two snaps showing you an iteresting micro-business. It's from the north-east gate of Scretariate (opposite Contonment Police Station) , Trivandrum.
Infact, these scenes have appeared in some of the dailies, a few months back. I thought its still worth showing them.
It's lunch packets, home-made and tasty. It's much cheaper too than the local Hotels. That's why all the packets get sold in a few minutes (during noon time).
The demand is increasing, they say. Some more home-business entrepreneurs can join. It's good and sacred to be an "annadaatavu" ! And can make some money too !
On 15 th August, we celebrated our Independence day. On that day, I asked some of my students, "What is independence ?". All of them gave an answer "swaathantryam" (the malayalam word for independence). But I repeated the question asking them to tell what it means to you. Most of them could not give me a reasonable answer. But some of them told me, that it is about "freedom of doing anything anyway anytime anyhow .., as you like it".
For them, independence is a state of "freedom, living as you like it" ! Do you agree ?
But for the media (particularly the advertisement media ) the term "freedom" is mostly expressed as below.
The pictures are from a magazine and a brochure respectively. The messsage is "freedom', and the graphic is always of a girl jumping !
May be, its not a news for you ! But it's here, the iPhone
3Gs. News of its release (in India) is the news of the day. Advertisements too proclaim the release. That's all wonderful !
But 31 K ? May be, that's not for me ! I'll live with my fatty Nokia lady !
A mango tree, my neighbor, shows her palm and fingers.
Thank you mango tree. But, is something wrong with your fingers? Yeah ... please be careful of your health !
