Y town

Hai all,

I've today, a set of snaps from Ytown.  In one of my earlier posts, I've shown you how Ytown looks like, from the skies. I've put there a picture from GoogleEarth, showing many "Y" formations of the roads , ie many Y junctions. You now know well why I call this town "The Y town".  Here are a few pictures. They are arranged randomly, and not in any order of priority.

The first one is the 'Rohini junction'. The road going left leads you to Ytown centre.

The second one here is "Thop Junction". The road to the left takes you to  "Asianet Studios".

And here,  another Y (close to Thop Jn), and the road to the right is 'Nethaji Road'.

What you see below is "Rohini Theatre". This is an important land mark in Google Earth.  But see it closely... I'm sorry.. the famous Rohini theatre is not there atall (It's time GoogleEarth correct thir markings! ).  It has been demoloished recently. A huge residential complex is coming up here (A huge hoarding at the left shows the complex). The only thing reamins of Rohini theatre there is the coconut tree (at the middle of the picture). You know, this coconut tree must have seen thousands of cenemas, over the last many (?) years. You can see also a bus-stop (shelter) in front of the coconut tree.

And now, you see the Mosque junction (view from Mosque). The road to the right is the main road, to TVM city centre. The road to the left will take you to PTP Nagr (and Saraswathy Vidyalaya, an eminent private school in TVM).

Now, what you see here is ' the centre of Ytown, the main junction. The road to the right goes to Rohini junction, Asianet studios, and ... The road to the left goes to Perrorkada, Kudappanakkunnu, and other very important places. The centre is characterised by its dilapilated buildings of a century old!

The picture below is the ..            junction. The road to the left goes to Perrorkada. And the right one to 'Aruvikkara', and so on.

Here is a junction which takes you to Ytown central (to the right) and the road going left takes you to Rohini junction.

And finally, you have another view of Rohini junction.

Oh.. How many Y junctions do you see ?. The "Y Town" is really of "Ys". Isn't it ?

If you have any comments, please scrap them here.

(I'm sorry, the photos and the text don't align, inspite of my repeated attempts.)

Y Town, from the skies

Friends, I've been telling you about the Y town. But you might not have seen. I promised to show all "Y"s in the Y town. But I didnot fulfill my promise so far. Sorry for that !

Today, I've a picture taken from the skies. Thanks to 'Google Earth', for a sky view of my Ytown. (I believe there's no legal restrictions on copying this image ).

Look at the picture. The lines you see are the main roads. All of them make junctions in a"Y" style.  There are 6 Ys forming the central area of the town.

This is very unique. Isn't it ?  I pray, let Y town hold its uniqueness in the future.

Y town scenes

Hi.. I have a few more shots, taken on a hartal day,  from Y town.  Nothing new.. but what this poor man saw !

Here are two shots of a main road in Y town. I've no comments

Here is a sick person, mentally ill, seen roaming through the streets of Y town. He begs with pedestrians and shops. Some of them give him money, but most of them ignore him. When he came to me, asking for money, I saw his hands. He had many currency notes in it.

Y town is now facing the "construction fever". Many many buildings (residential buildings and flats) are being built now. JCBs are a part of the construction culture. Y town is no exception. Here is one among the many JCBs in action at Y town.

"Y" town

In our city, at the end of it, is the very small town (let me call this corner place so) called "vattiYoorkavu". A nice place to live in ! Many nice persons live here.
( Or, should I modify this to : All persons living here are nice !  ?).

All roads in this town makes a "Y" junction. I just counted ... there are seven Y junctions here.
That's interesting !   I shall show you all Y junction visuals, shortly.
