Someone without a Mobile phone ?

Mobile phones have penetrated deep down to the 'really BPL' classes in this City. Almost all daily wage workers (casual workers) in the construction sector too has a 'Mobile' with them. The fisher-women (selling fish, on the way-side) too has a color phone. Tomorrow, I am sure, the beggars in the street would have one. I'll be keen to watch them talking ! (However, I wish noone begs in this world ).

But what I wish to show you now, is the following snap, taken from our local thattukada. The youngster, making the tea, is talking over his mobile, as he does a tea !

Thattukadas are for everyone; for "pandithanum paamaranum" and also for "kuchelanum kuberanum" ( പണ്ഡിതനും പാമരനും, കുചേലനും കുബേരനും ).

Thattukadas are interesting spots. It really fascinates me. Yesterday, while I was  passing by the Althara thattukada, there was a crowd there. Please see the pictures.

There was nothing wrong. It's all people waiting for their supply of tea and snacks.

Thattukada

Thattukada - the poor man's hotel- are plenty in our city.

Thattukadas are very interesting places. You get good items, and you get a feel of the City. If you think thattukadas are for the poor man, I am sorry, you are wrong. Even the rich comes to thattukada.

There is a very active Thattukada at Althara junction. In fact, its a Milma booth. But now its a busy thattukada. Over 6 persons are employed here. They are busy throughout the day. (Figs 3 and 4).

Last day, when I took a tea here, I clicked my mobile cam . Please see two shots. ( I know these are not really communicative).

But if thattukadas are not of interest to you, please see this Sweet stall. Sweets are being made right at the road side..  and you know they have a very brisk sale ! (Figs 1 and 2).

This shop (?) is temporary.. Its just part of the festival in our local Mosque in the Y town.

Sorry for the loooooong gap....

Good day, dear friends...
I am sorry that I didnot post my RAMs and RATs for over a month.
I shall tell you about this looooong gap ! That's not to impress you on my lapses, But to tell you a lot of RAMs and RATs.

The Chinese say, there are nine lives for a cat. (Remember the Eveready ad, with a cat and the number 9 ! ).  We Indians believe that we all have multiple lives. (How many ? Do you know ?)
Any how, I had a change of my 'live' recently (last month ! ). I shall tell you those interesting and exciting experiences. They are, I am sure, won't be just RATs.

I had already written a few pages on all these RATs (on paper). They'll be shortly in this blog. I hope, my girl assisting me to type out my heavier tasks join back .. at the earliest.

In the meanwhile, remember, I told you about the inordinate price rises in the city ? Now that there is absolutely NO control over the price rises, I don't know how we manage our both ends meet !

The Thattukada I've referred earlier is CLOSED FOR EVER, it seems.. The are not openeing it !!

And the Rains are here. But the Rain God is not inclined to bless the Rain predictors ! the MET department !!  I pity them. Won't you ?
